Materials We DO NOT Accept ...
- Closed Containers or Cylinders of Any Kind (Compressed Gas, Propane, etc.)
- Dirt, Debris, or Waste of Any Kind (Glass, Wood, Dirt, Concrete, Asphalt or Other Non-Metallic Materials)
- Hazardous wastes as defined under Ontario Regulation 347 (R.R.O. 1990)
- Vehicles with propane or natural gas tanks still attached
- Any whole refrigeration equipment that has not been certified empty of Freon. This includes refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and de-humidifiers.
- Ballast capacitors from lighting fixtures which are not clearly identified as non-PCB
- Any items originating, or appear to have originated, from a grave site, monument or public property. Benmet will require a proof of ownership for any items in question.
- Temperature gauges, thermostats, nanometer switches or any other materials that contain mercury
- Combustible or Explosive Materials
- Material Containing Asbestos
- Liquids
- Items Containing Mercury
- Radioactive Material
- Any material made from or contaminated by asbestos
- Selenium (photocopier roller drums)
- Magnesium turnings
- Excessive amounts of garbage
- Oil cooled transformers that once contained PCBs
- Metal that is excessively dirty or covered with soil
- Metal that is covered with excessive concrete
